Raising Awareness of the different
types of disability
This year at Joseph Locke Primary School, we will be marking anti-bullying week by raising awareness of different types of disability through the theme of ‘Positively Different’. The 450 children, aged 4-11, will participate in activities that increase their understanding of a range of disabilities or special needs in a positive and empathetic way; this increased awareness will then be invested into pieces of work that not only raise awareness but also celebrate differences.
In light of this planned event, we were wondering if your organisation could contribute anything, such as a workshop, activities or talk, that would encourage understanding and respect, as well as raising society’s expectations for people living with cerebral palsy.
If you feel YOU could offer something to a class of children on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th, or Thursday, 19th, November, then please let us know and we can get plans underway. We would very much appreciate it your support.
A big shout out to the
Joseph Locke Primary School
for developing this initiative
